Pricing update
For 2 years, we've delayed an across-the-board pricing increase. We (as everyday people) have experienced the price increases from almost all other industries as well. We know It effects the cost of gas, groceries, household items--you name it. We wanted to help shoulder some of that burden from our clients as much as possible for as long as we could. The time has come for us to reevaluate.
Taking into consideration the current extreme pricing of materials cost, we find it necessary to raise our prices by about 20% on average. Some things will be less of an increase, some will be slightly more. We designed the pricing to be fair by making sure the pricing matches the service. For example, it doesn't make sense to equally raise our cut and color pricing by 20% when color services, by nature, involve substantially more product usage.
Important:
1.) If you already have an appointment on the books, the pricing for that appointment will not increase.
2.) If you have multiple appointments on the books, your next one will be old pricing and subsequent ones will be new pricing.
3. If you do not have an appointment on the books, you can text us by 9pm on 9/12 to initiate getting one scheduled and we will freeze pricing for that appointment.
If you'd like, take a look at the offers below. If you have any questions, want to know how this impacts you personally or talk through how you'd like to handle it, please reach out! Text is easiest, (503) 707-6029

There is a common misconception that salon owners behind the chair make more money than they do as a stylist at someone else's salon--this is generally not true. In fact, most salon owners behind the chair (including us) face much higher expenses and overhead than they did as a booth renter at another salon. When we opened Coda in 2020, we adjusted our pricing to accommodate for some of that, but not all of it. Bringing in a second stylist has helped close that gap, barely. For the past 3 years, we've actually had a substantial decline in profit year after year because of the excessive price increase in materials cost. So to be clear, this increase is directly going to help cover the cost of materials used in services.
